Calculate the pull you need and see what fits
One field and one rule from the manufacturer. No sign-up, no form, no waiting for a reply.
The full table is below. The column “Max vehicle GVWR” is the rated pull divided by 1.5 — the heaviest vehicle for which this winch meets the manufacturer's rule.

Where the 1.5 comes from
WARN has published this formula for years and does not change it between lines: gross vehicle weight rating × 1.5 = minimum pull. The multiplier covers what the vehicle's weight alone does not describe — mud resistance, gradient, wheels buried to the axle.
What matters is the gross rating, not the kerb weight. The manufacturer says so explicitly, because this is the commonest mistake: an off-road vehicle's kerb weight can be 600–900 kg below its rating, and a winch sized on kerb weight turns out to be too weak exactly when it is needed.
On a Polish registration document the rating is in field F.2, in kilograms, while WARN works in pounds. The table below does the conversion; you do not have to multiply anything.
ATVs and UTVs are calculated differently
For quads and utility vehicles the 1.5 rule does not apply — WARN gives ready-made bands:
| Vehicle | Recommended pull | Per manufacturer |
|---|---|---|
| ATV | 1,134 – 1,588 kg | 2,500 – 3,500 lbs |
| Two-seat UTV | 1,588 – 2,041 kg | 3,500 – 4,500 lbs |
| Four-seat UTV | 2,041 – 2,495 kg | 4,500 – 5,500 lbs |
The difference between our lines at the same pull is not marketing: R uses a simpler motor and gear train, VRX adds sealing and a fairlead, AXON has the strongest motor in its class and a plow mode. That is why the R35-S and the VRX 35-S share a rated pull and differ in price by half.
