We are a dealer and an authorised service centre for the brand. We repair winches you did not buy from us — including ones well outside the current model years.
A winch works a dozen times a year and spends the rest of its life on a bumper, in water and salt. Its failures are therefore predictable: contacts first, then seals, mechanics last. Most of them are a repair, not a replacement.
Wireless remotes on older winches. The manufacturer published a warning that some wireless receivers are incompatible with earlier-generation winches using individual solenoids instead of a control module. If you have one of those and are considering a wireless remote, come in or write and we will check compatibility before you buy.
Before bringing a winch in, write or call. Some faults can be diagnosed remotely, and for some it is enough to send the module rather than the whole unit.
What we do
Diagnostics
Measurement under load: battery, cable sizes, voltage drops across cables and module, motor running both ways. Very often what looks like a worn winch turns out to be the vehicle's wiring.
Control module and solenoids
The commonest failure across the brand. The symptom “it only pulls one way” almost always ends here.
Seals and gear train
Water in the gear train is a matter of time, not of failure. Replacing seals before winter is far cheaper than a gear train after it.
Motor
Brushes, brush holder, rebuild. A complete motor replacement is a last resort, not a first step.
Rope and fairlead replacement
Including stretching the new rope on the drum. When changing to synthetic we fit a new aluminium hawse — for the reason set out in the guides.
End-of-season inspection
Rope spooled out and inspected, hook and latch checked, clutch operation, contact condition, mounting re-torqued. An hour of work that catches what only shows once things come apart.
